It’s a big Sunday!
Reminder – we are still gathering signatures for Vote Before Tolls!
All of your Super Bowl viewing guests can download, print, and sign a “single-signer” IP-31 Vote Before Tolls petition here: https://VoteBeforeTolls.org/Initiative#single
Since the year started …
* The state legislators have tried to illegally remove the No Gas Tax Referendum from the November ’26 ballot.
* ODOT admitted a $10 Billion price INCREASE (that’s $10,000,000,000) to $17B for the replacement I-5 Columbia River Interstate Bridge. That’s up over 250% in just 3 short years!
* Tolling’s share of the bridge funding jumps 10x to over $11B.
Salem still thinks Tolls are an untapped gold mine! Please keep signing IP-31 to make our RIGHT TO VOTE on Tolls PERMANENT!
Please continue to make your “free” 2026 $100 contribution to the Vote Before Tolls effort to bring the same accountability before any tolling starts. Married couples can contribute $100 and get a 100% Oregon income tax credit on your 2026 taxes – let the state pay for our VBT efforts. ($50 max tax credit for individuals). https://votebeforetolls.org/contribution/
ODOT’s budget is up 100% since 2015. Potholes are growing like weeds and our bridges and highways are crumbling due to lack of proactive maintenance
CPI up 35% – ODOT’s spending increase is nearly 3x that rate!
Steel is up 73%
Concrete is up 65%
Asphalt up is 25%
Again, hard expenses are “only” up 25-73%, yet ODOT’s spending is up nearly 100%, the system is crumbling, and staff is apparently being cut – the math doesn’t work for me. HB 2025 rewards this math by sending over a billion dollars in new taxes to ODOT.
And beyond the annual budget, where did the unexpected $3.7B of 2021’s post-COVID Build Back Better federal infrastructure funds go? Roads are worse and infrastructure is crumbling due to lack of maintenance since 2015.
IP-31 is more critical now than ever! It will force transparency and accountability.
We are actively gathering signatures to get on the 2026 ballot. The measure is still retroactive so all new tolls are covered.

Gathering signatures is easy and actually fun – no hard sell … because 98% of those we speak to do not want tolls.
You can request blank petitions at VoteBeforeTolls.org We’ll get them into the mail to you promptly. You can also download and print a single signer petition on the website – but we really need need you to request the 10-signature sheet and send in 9 (or 90) more signatures with yours.
